'River Memories'

'River memories' by Peter Davies. Original large oil painting on canvas.

A contemporary riverscape on a stretched canvas of a late winters day with midday sunlight shimmering across a river, the reflections sparkling on the water. Across the river we see the other bank, caught in harsh relief against the sun. This riverscape painting attempts to capture dazzling late winter sun on water with accompanying reflections glinting on the surface. I was attempting to capture the vibrancy and movement of a flowing river on a crisp day, with dazzling light and bright yellow and blue hues in a vaguely impressionist style.
